Joe,

I'm using a ts-7260 and the IOGear USB 2.0 WiFI Adapter that
technologic shipped me. My kernel is 2.4.26-ts11. Here's what
iwconfig says:

iwconfig Wireless-Tools version 27
Compatible with Wireless Extension v11 to v17.

Kernel Currently compiled with Wireless Extension v16.

wlan0 Recommend Wireless Extension v13 or later,
Currently compiled with Wireless Extension v16.
-----------------

When I run iwlist, I see lots of cells regardless of whether the
connection is working or not. Here's some of the output (there were
13 cells):

In case it's useful, here's the info on the zd module from when it loads:

:shucker# modprobe zd
zd1211 - http://zd1211.ath.cx/ - r83
Based on www.zydas.com.tw driver version 2.5.0.0
usb.c: registered new driver zd1211
Release Ver = 4802
EEPORM Ver = 4330
PA type: 0
AiroHa AL2230RF
AllowedChannel = 000107ff
Region:16
------------------------

I haven't tried compiling my own module; where do you get the sources?
If you think it's just a quirky hardware thing, I'm perfectly happy
to just go buy an adapter that people have had good luck with. The
cost is small next to the time it might take to wrestle with this one
<grin>.

Thanks,

Brian
