I've been experimenting with a home made parabola too recently. It is possi=
ble to make your own dish although you need access to a lathe. I made a mou=
ld from layers of 25mm mdf turned on the lathe, then heated some PETG over =
the gas hob for the dish. I made a mess of the first one, but each one is b=
etter than the last, and the materials are cheap. (=A330 mdf/ =A325 PETG). =
Good guide here: https://avesrares.wordpress.com/2016/04/28/diy-parabola/ h=

For a mic I'm using three of the EM172 capsules wired in parallel and using=
the simple P48 trick to run on phantom. It sounds very good and for a frac=
tion of the cost of a commercial one.
