, so I cannot be specifically helpful...
I'd suggest that all shotguns are not created equal, and some are created f=
or specific duty like close up film dialog. So your mic may indeed be inap=
propriate for your work. That's as close to granting absolution as I can g=
et for you:).
Your file sounds (to my ears:) like a combination of distance and off axis =
response...
Have you tried/worked with the other mics? And in a related question, are =
you happier with their results:)?
Unless you can fiddle with the polar pattern there's no fix I know of for y=
our current mic, it is what it is.
I know this doesn't help much, if at all:), perhaps better minds with direc=
t experience of the gear in question may jump in here,
