In audition 1.5, when using save as, there is a tick box saying save non au=
dio information. It must be ticked.

s
I'm using Audition 1.5.=A0=A0
I have tried a couple of software that Grant suggested. I couldn't find the=
marks using Wave Agent but BWF Metadata showed that there were cues on fil=
es which were copied from the original but not with those that were edited =
then saved or save as. The same appears to happen with the date and informa=
tion of a recording. That information is there as long one uses copy and sa=
ve but do anything else its lost.

What software are you using to edit the files, David? The marks are encoded=
into the wav files by the recorder using a format that only some software =
can interpret. Audacity, for example, simply ignores them (or did last time=
I tried), and when you open the files, there are no marks.
The software you're using can obviously read them, but it sounds like it ig=
nores them when doing "save as". In order to save them, you will need to be=
saving in a format that supports them, and there might be an option to ena=
ble saving them.
I have come across methods Audacity users have used to convert them into Au=
dacity "label tracks", which Audacity can reliably work with, so you might =
need to do something similar. Note that if I was to do that with Audacity, =
they'd be reliably retained so long as I was saving in the native Audacity =
format, but if I was to "save as" wav format, the resulting wav file would =
contain no trace of them.

I would love so to have it all in 1 place. Yes having a backup would do it =
but finding, digging it out could time consuming and if there are several t=
o be found. Having it in the edited version would be preferred.

Easy. Never work on your original file and never work on your backups. Make=
a copy of the wanted file and work on that :-)

Have I got this right. When dealing with metadata which includes cues/ mark=
s, they kept if the file is copied or cut to another location but if any ed=
iting is done to that file, then saved, cues are lost. Is there any way to =
get around this.

Hi Vicki
Thank you for the reply. I have played around a little more playing around =
and found that my facts wasn't exactly right. The cue's does remain when co=
py and cut. They do not show up when I save as which I use a lot when editi=

can not find the cue information. Maybe its not a Sou nd Device recorder.=
Thank you again

I am mystified David. You would think that whatever info got as far
as your computer, could then be copied exactly from your computer to
your backup drive. Perhaps the info is still there as metadata? Have
you tried Wave Agent? Others in this group have more knowledge than I
do for t hese sorts of things.
