The Sony PCM-D100 is an excellent choice, I tend to use mine more than some= of my other recorders, due to its portability and recording capability; wi= thout the need for additional cabling, connectors, adapters, batteries, tri= pods, or even external microphones. There will always of course be occasion= s where a different recorder with specialist external microphones would be = a better choice (and +$$$$), but if you want a good all-round standalone un= it with excellent recording quality on a reasonable but limited budget, the= n the PCM-D100 is the recommended choice. A good argument to convince the Wife, is that the D100 is a replacement un= it, is of much better quality, and will last for several years ;-) All the best Lawrence |
