Clive, I'm not saying that it's always better on the ground, but I discovered the= ground effect when my stereo rig on a tripod kept blowing over. Tripods are= for singers and close musical instruments etc. and what is minimised is a ground echo with a few feet difference which sets up a "comb filter" response, but the ground rule (pun intended) as ever is to experiment and listen. Is the "backsplash" any worse than the "frontsplash" of the rain itself? David Brinicombe |
