Heat generated by small recorders

I want to leave my Sony M10 recording unattended for an extended period, an=
d I was thinking I would fit it into a piece of foam inside a clip lock box=
, with a sheet of foam over the top before I close the lid. I.e. it would b=
e totally surrounded by foam.

The idea is to protect it from temperature extremes, as well as to stop it =
sliding around in the box. I'm wondering if the heat generated by the recor=
der while it's operating would build up when insulated like this to the poi=
nt where it might stop operating or cause damage. I'm guessing there won't =
be a problem unless the air temperature is quite high or it's left in direc=
t sun, but I might be underestimating how much heat it generates.

Does anyone have any experience with this?
