Speaking of cassette transfers, what's a reasonable cabling arrangement to
go from unbalanced RCA (-10dBv) outputs to balanced XLR inputs such as those
found on the Sound devices 7xx recorders? I've never input an unbalanced
signal to my SD702 recorder, but according to the manual, they accept
unbalanced signal, making sure that phantom power was switched off in this
case, of course. I was thinking of transferring some cassette recordings
from a decent, but consumer grade cassette deck that I have, but wasn't sure
if I really needed a step-up circuit of any kind, or just a twisted
pair/shielded adapter such as this:

76&seq=1&format=2> &cp_id=11509&cs_id=1150902&p_id=4776&seq=1&format=2 My
transfers would only be for archival personal use, so I wanted to get a
reasonable quality transfer without much investment in hardware, if
possible, and without frying anything, if I chose to use the 702.
