Has that thing got a flame in it when it's on? It might not be legal to use it
in some places, e.g. In Australia on a total fire ban day. I imagine the fire
risk is very small, but the authorities might not see it that way.

The large netted tent is a great idea though, probably the most effective of
all.
For editing fly sounds out Izotope spectral repair software can work on minor
sounds. Really swarmy and loud sounds may be too much to edit out.
