Thanks, one and all, for your suggestions.  There's a lesson about looking =
before leaping in this saga, somewhere. I thought the 2nd MD was a good and=
 cheap solution for a compact recording rig, but it looks like it'll cost m=
e a little to work with the recordings. I'm sure the recording quality to M=
D will be good, though - and I can listen to it on my own ... walking aroun=
d the streets.
