There is a tool which is good for this. I believe it's just called a heat c=
lamp. It's like a bigger, thinner alligator clip, available at Radio Shack.=
 Clip its jaws on the wire between the solder point & the part you need to =
protect from heat. Basically it's a temporary heat sink which drains heat a=
way from the sensitive part.
