Another (very compact) idea to consider is Naiant's Tinybox preamp. EIN is
about -124dBu with the high-gain, low-noise option. P48 is supported. In its
favour it's significantly cheaper than a MixPre, but with this comes a slight
gain, noise and output level sacrifice.
Jon who runs Naiant really knows his stuff and is very approachable. He can put
together a preamp tailored for the features you need. Good luck with your
