<<Does anyone else have problems with periodic loud fizzing noise from Sennheiser 8020 mics? Sennheiser replaced one set of mics ('faulty capsule' they said) but the noise persists in the replacement mics despite me checking absolutely everything by way of leads and phantom power voltage and connectors etc. etc.>> At a recent outdoor classical music festival I worked we heard a similar pr= oblem on a Sennheiser 8040. One of the other engineers said he had sent the= mic to Sennheiser, but feared it was still acting up. I finally tracked th= e issue down to upper harmonics of wind rumble (the fundamental having been= high-pass filtered out.) The 80x0 series is pretty sensitive to wind, & wi= th an added second foam screen we were able to deal with it. This might pos= sibly be what's causing you trouble. Scott Fraser |
