Hi Lily,

I recently had that same decision to make, and I picked the Sony PCM-M10 mo=
stly because it cost less than the LS-11. I cannot complain about the sound=
quality: it works great with my em172 capsules and my Shure Wl183 micropho=
nes.

There are a few quirks I have found with the M10 that might make the LS-11 =
a better choice.

Micro SD cards are way too small for field use. While changing cards in my =
tent, my cold finger slipped and the spring loaded card slot shot the tiny =
card across the tent. LS-11 uses the larger SD card, which is at least big =
enough to hold onto - and not blow away in the breeze.

The file naming system on the M10 allows for duplicate file names between i=
nternal memory and memory card. So when set to cross-memory recording, it s=
eamlessly switches from the internal memory to the card, but the the file n=
ames start over again at YYMMDD_01. I am not sure if the LS-11 has a better=
 file naming system.

Mine has a faulty on-off switch, so I need to send the recorder back for a =
replacement or refund if possible. The switch is spring loaded and normally=
one would hold it down for a few seconds to shut off. The problem with min=
e is, the clearance is tight so it sticks in the down position, which makes=
it very easy to accidentally turn off while recording.
