Hi,
if you use the Ultramic200 with SeaWave, even on a small tablet or
netbook pc you can record to disk at 200k sampling and see the spectrogram
on the screen. THEN you can play back the files with the "Play speed" optio=
n
(in the "basic settings" panel) at reduced speed while maintaing the correc=
t
frequency/time measures on the spectrogram display.
I'm now working to add to seawave an option, already developed for our own
research on dolphins, that allows - while recording and displaying - to
shift in real-time a 20 kHz frequency band down to audible range, e.g. 60-8=
0
kHz down to 0-20 kHz; if working in 2 channels mode (but the input signal i=
s
still mono) you can get on the headphone two shifted bands, e.g. 40-60kHz o=
n
the right channel and 60-80 on the left channel. A further option still in
development allows to "compress" the spectrum into the audible range, of
course with artifacts, but still useful to "hear" the ultrasounds.
