< I'm still "recovering" from the discovery that this new microphone
is not only able to record at 200kHz, but that it ALSO performs as a
Time-Expansion bat detector! Amazing! Until now, the only way to get
time expanded recordings of bats: Was to dig deep into your wallet
=A3=A3=A3/$$$...The lowest cost unit (that I was thinking of buying myself)=
cost =A3468.20 !

<This is awesome!!
Al,
But does it do the same job? It seems that you have to carry around a
computer as well and does it do time expansion in real time or do you
have to use a sound editor? In the field you will then have battery
life issues. It seems a useful gadget but I'm not getting too excited
for bat work. It's also limited to below 100KHz, not 200, so you've
lost the Lesser Horseshoes and the higher harmonics of the other
species. I've got IR cameras in a Lesser roost and it won't help
there.
I'll probably get one though.
