Hi regarding digital in & out, currently I'm using an optical Toslink interface to connect a Mac and/or an Airport Express device to a Caiman DAC for playback. Previously I was used to connect via Toslink a digimodded Edirol UA-5 to a Sony PCM D50. In this setup the Edirol worked as a preamp. Regarding sampling rates, usually I go 24/96, sometimes 24/192 on a SD 702. IMHO with the current cost of storage it is worth to use higher sampling rates, paying attention to apply a correct dithering method by downsampling. |
