I prefer an after-mix with or without equalisation as this can cover up the transition level between the reduced noise and the foreground signal. I've also tried playing with the width of the stereo background before the mix. I also use the spectrogram on Audacity to see what's there.>> And every noise reduction app takes a slightly different approach to user control as well. Sounds like you're getting the same effect in noise reduction as the use of "parallel compression" acheives in subtle dynamics control. Scott Fraser |
