<<Mitch is right about you being able to record with your pocket
recorder too and sync them up in post by lining-up the wave forms.
The "drift" is usually not that bad. It does take a good bit of time,
so its not something one wants to do routinely. I used to put
multiple MiniDisc recorders in performer's pockets wearing lav mics
and let them run continuously and sync them all up in post. 'Twas a
pain, but it produced high quality without renting expensive radio
mics.>>

A very quick & dirty method for syncing multiple free running
recording machines is the clapstick technique, utilized in film
production for many decades prior to the implementation of time code.
It is still used occasionally in certain situations where time code
sync is just too time consuming or the proper equipment doesn't exist.
Simply record a visual & audible clap on both machines at the
beginning of each scene. Later, using any sort of video editing
software just line up the moment when the hands or clapsticks touch,
with the audio recording of the sound of the clap. Current digital
clocks tend to keep sync within a few frames over the course of many
minutes, & small corrections can be made along the way if the scene is
quite long.
