Hi Ray--

  I see that the HDC-HS700 has a stereo mini plug mic input, likely
its PIP.

. The built-in mic appears to have a "5.1" setting.  No Line input I
can see.

What kinds of sounds are you planning to record? Would you be willing
to use external mics with your M10 even if small ones you can mount
on your body? If you own external mics you'd consider using, what
models are they?
