I also have the PCM-M10.
- It takes two AA batts, and they are quite easy to change. Astoundingly
power-efficient, It runs for a VERY long time on a fresh pair.
- It works nicely with PIP mics. I've used it with Shure WL183s and Sanke=
n
COS-11s.
- Prerecord buffer is only useful with external mics (you hear the
button-presses with built-in mics, unless source sound is very loud)
- Once menu options are set up, it's very simple and easy to use, and quit=
e
"positive" in terms of knowing you're recording.
Overall I'm very pleased with it. Never seen the Olympus in person so can'=
t
comment on it.
