I also have the PCM-M10.

 - It takes two AA batts, and they are quite easy to change.  Astoundingly
power-efficient, It runs for a VERY long time on a fresh pair.

 - It works nicely with PIP mics.  I've used it with Shure WL183s and Sanke=
n
COS-11s.

 - Prerecord buffer is only useful with external mics (you hear the
button-presses with built-in mics, unless source sound is very loud)

 - Once menu options are set up, it's very simple and easy to use, and quit=
e
"positive" in terms of knowing you're recording.


Overall I'm very pleased with it.  Never seen the Olympus in person so can'=
t
comment on it.
