Paul,

I haven't done any nature recording with this combo yet... Now that winter =
is loosing its grip on our area I need to get out & see if I like using the=
 X3 with the FR2. I've been happy with the FR2's mic pre's, but I've wanted=
to experiment with the X3's 3-mic input.

I do know that by running the P48 on the X3 instead of the FR2 I'll save so=
me battery usage. The FR2 is notoriously hard on batteries, and I don't rea=
lly like to drag out the larger 12v boxes that I use when I'm doing cart-ba=
sed video recording.

My wife & I are talking about taking our first camping trip this weekend, s=
o I should have an opportunity to test then. I'm going to test the AT3032 p=
air and a pair of AKG CK93 hyper caps on the SE300B bodies. I'm also going =
to try a couple of other combos, but I'm a bit embarrassed to spell out whi=
ch. If anything works I'll post the results.

for a preamp to run in front of my AT3032/HDP2 so I'd be very interested i=
n hearing how the Wendt performs in quiet conditions if you have the chance=
 record with the 3032's attached.
