Hi John,

I'm no expert on the Wendt mixers but I have been looking around for an ext=
ernal preamp to use in front of my HDP2 and have read the X3 docs. One thin=
g that I noticed and might be worth looking at is that the mic preamp gain =
on the X3 is switchable between 0db -10dB and -20dB, so it would be worth c=
hecking that you have the preamps set to "20". The front panel faders opera=
te post preamp so the preamps could be clipping even if you are feeding a -=
6dB signal to the FR2. The limiter is post-fader so won't prevent the mic=
preamps clipping. If you are getting clipping with the pre's at -20dB try=
switching on the -10dB pad on the AT3032's.

cheers
Paul
