I've never seen wave forms like that out of my AT3032s. Did you have
the mic pads in or out? You weren't overloading the Fostex, but
something
looks to be slew-rate limited or very non-linear when pushed. I
don't know
Wendt gear, but you only got AA cells there -- perhaps you had a bad
cell
and Wendt couldn't draw enough.
The FR2 does phantom -- you should run the AT3032s directly into the
Fostex and try some percussion up close and see if you still have the
problem.
The only reason I'd add the Wendt is if you've got 3 3032s and need
them all in
the mix (Jecklin disc suggests not).
