Also, considering ONLY use of the built-in mics, its very likely that
input noise of both M10 and D50 recorders is low enough so that the
differences will stem from the capsules and their mounting/array.
Sony's self-noise numbers aren't enough to go on; a side-by side,
high-gain recording in a quiet location could provide a reliable
"answer" with the usual amount of subjective disagreement. Maybe
someone has the gear necessary to make such a comparison. Its an
easier one to make because the recorders can be placed right next to
each other with all filtering off and roll at the same time. Rob D.
