If you keep your gear in ziplocks with silica you should not have any probl= ems. You can get silica that changes colors when it is saturated, then heat= it up and it will be good again. We had gear that spent 5-7 months a year = for four years in Peru and a little time in Costa Rica with no failures bec= ause of humidity. That said we had doubles of everything just in case.
