Thanks Oryoki and Scott, I had wondered whether a stealth approach might be better (but really do not like compromising sound quality, within reason), and had considered only taking the small microphones and leaving the better ones and the blimp behind. Will probably end up taking everything, and just see how it goes (will share the outcome, whatever I decide). As a complete newbie, my outstanding questions are: - if externally polarized microphones fail under these conditions, do they recover when you dry them out? - are RF polarized mics completely resilient under such conditions, or just better? - what should I be taking with me to ensure that I will have something that works (as an amateur)?
