I took the plunge back in February 09 when despite extensive research and c=
ontacting Audio Technica direct, the 3032 was not available anywhere. The =
best price I could get in the UK was =A3252.35. Buying from outside the UK =
& paying import duty would have cost more so I was 'happy' at that price.
Compared with the AT825 I had been using I have found these omni's liberati=
ng in their self noise and am still experimenting with various spaced pair =
techniques into a FR-2LE.
One trial set-up involves a 3 x 6 foot window facing a large oak tree 15 - =
20ft away where I hang the mics against the exterior of the glass about 36 =
inches apart as if on a large boundary plate at 'thirds' where they collect=
Blue & Great Tits, Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers, Magpie, Carrion Crow, Wood =
Pigeon, Jays & squirrels. I am very impressed with their quietness and qual=
ity and suggest if you find them at such prices discussed earlier then 'sna=
p them up' before the deals end.
Cheers Roger
