editing software

Audition has no benefits over Audacity and of course cost thousands of times 
more considering Audacity is free. If you are going to purchase editing 
software I recommend Raven  from Cornell which can do many things that either 
of the A programs cant.  And it works on mac. There is also a free mac program 
from Cornell called Canary but it is for OS9 and earlier.
