Comments follow a file to another Mac.

Finder is generally where you do your searching & organizing in Mac OS
though. And you can sort via comments in Finder. You can also sort via
labels, which will add a color code to files. I tend to organize
nature recordings into folders by geographical location, so I have
folders for Germany, Hawai'i, Australia, Bali, etc. Within the folders
I use labels to color code by genre. Thus water sounds have blue
labels, birds are yellow, insects are green, etc. All the files are
stored within the Audio File structure in Digital Performer. Still, I
have to keep a lot of it in my head. I know that the best small stream
recordings I have are from Maine & Colorado, so I look there first.
