Soundminer is a piece of software that is more geared towards what you're t=
rying to do.

You can embed data in the sound file, more than just in the title.

Other than that, coming up with a really efficient way to name your files g=
oes a long way, then when you search for something by filename, you can qui=
ckly find stuff.

Greg Weddig made his own cataloging system in Filemaker Pro, perhaps he wil=
l chime in.
