All, There has been some talk about the LS-10 not handling low frequencies so well, but I think it is quite good. I have uploaded to the naturerecordists Files page a short mp3 sound clip of low growly thunder recorded with two different set-ups, side by side (see T for Thunder on Files page). The clip has two parts: a. with Olympus LS-10 and Telinga stereo mic used open. The LS-10 has no low cut applied, and using low sensitivity, volume 10. b. with SD-702 and SASS head with two MKH20 mics. Conclusion, the LS-10 with Telinga is surprisingly good on the low rumbles.
