David, I use a neumann rsm191 m/s mic.
After fluffing around with decoding in post for a while and trying to find =
the perfect balance I just decided to record it as a decoded stereo signal =
at a 1:1 ratio and haven't looked back...
M/S WILL sound different then your sass rig (esp in the h/phones)as they re=
ly on different methods of recording the stereo image, so don't fret. Anywa=
y, there are all manor of plugins to alter the stereo image later if need b=
e these days.
