I would say the trade off for conversion is the extra time it takes.
But to put another angle on this question, what is the likely format of the=
 near future? I was thinking that recording at 24bit 48kHz might also make =
my files more future-proof. Is valid at all? Otherwise from now on I may st=
ick to 24bit 44.1kHz.
