Then the side holds up against the mid fine as it's the same mic. I'd still not use the 80 set to omni as you loose directionality to my mind. It becomes just two mono mics again with the omni. Sennheiser does need to replace the 30 with a mic on the newer designs like the 80 or the 8000 series. The 30 is the weak part of the M/S, though with the 40 (another in need of replacement) it's not a bad match. Just my opinion Walt |
