Thanks for the suggestions, Rob and others.

I notice the MX1BP and Dan's suggestion, the RK100PK, cost about the
same, and the latter does seem more practical since it's basically
just an oversized XLR plug with the pre-amp built in (less hassle than
the cable(s) coming from the MX1BP).

The Naiant suggestion also seems convenient, since I already have a
Y-connector for my WL183s with a 3.5mm jack at the end. Specs on their
page seem fine (self-noise -117dBA), but as we all know real life and
life on paper isn't always the same.

... and the Naiant is a lot less expensive, of course.
