I think you will find powering mics such as the k6 me66 with
phantompower reduces the noise level in comparison with the internal
battery. Unsheilded or poorly shielded cable is more prone to picking
up mains hum and other such noise. Quite easy to dismiss but not
entirely true . There is a certain amount of pomposity on this list some
times.
