I found this text with many illustrative graphics about auditory perception, acoustics, audio recording techniques, microphone types, speaker placement and much more. http://www.lenardaudio.com/education/10_mics.htm Some of the info is quite generalized and perhaps disputable but it seems like it could be useful for increasing familiarity with terms and techniques without too many burdensome details.
