Just had an idea,
I have a Gitzo carbon fiber monopod which I carry hiking when I'm not
already carrying it's brethern tripod for photography or videography.
this might be just the ticket for mounting the Windpac for non-tripod
recording - could also work as a mini-boom for recording babbling brooks and
whatnot.
