Final heads up for those living around the NYC area, I'll be speaking w/ Richard Leakey and Sylvia Earle next Friday, 30 May, at Columbia University (Miller Auditorium) as part of the World Science Festival being held this week. My topic will be the ways in which we can measure the effects of extinction from the perspective of natural soundscapes. I tried posting the link earlier but it didn't come through. Here it is FYI, again: http://www.worldsciencefestival.com/ 2008-festival/events/all-events/the-sixth-extinction If there's anyone in the group from the NYC/New England, area, it would be fun to meet and chat, then.
