I went over this carefully with SP, this should not be possible short (no
pun intended) of a total failure. But nonetheless I'm going to try the thin=
g
out on some *cheaper* electrets first... ;)

The current that phantom can provide is I believe well in excess of what th=
e
electrets will need, as far as I could gather -- but I will try to figure
out a way of provoking failure, e.g. keeping the mics at a fixed distance
and ramping up some low frequencies sources on my sub/monitors, trying with
the MZ-RH900 supply, Leonard's pre, and the 722->SP cable...

They're actually quieter than the DSM-6's, by design, just still far too
noisy by the standards around here for nature recoiidng... :)
i would like to hear more about your experience with the various DSMs to

Well, if it's any help, essentially everything on my site was recorded with
the DSM-6/EH or 6S/EH... :)

I have a pair of the DPA 4060s (as Core Sound HEBs) as well, I like them as
binaural mics but still love the DSMs in the WHB as my first choice.
I don't have Octavas, the 3032s, etc, but I do have some MKHs... totally
different story there natch. But so much extra gear to lug!
