Not to my knowledge. I suspect more simply, not today. Remember that what
you can get with that setup today offers an exceptional value not only in
price but in quality and convenience relative to what you would have needed
to match it five or so years ago... let alone 20...

...which might imply that if you want to wait, in five years the Zoom H16
HR-XL may be better for less money... :D

(But I wouldn't hold my breathe either!)

Also, remember that you will have a lot more flexibility with outboard
microphones. I do love my Zoom H2 as a handy scratch recorder; but it's
limited to doing exactly what it can with its built-in microphones (and in
that model's case, the external mic input is not so good.)

Fwiw my own ultraportable setup btw is still Sonic Studios DSM
quasi-binaural mics and a HiMD recorder -- you could go even smaller if you
went with the minature Core Sound HEBs as mics -- but that's not going to b=
e
any cheaper, and the mics, while useful for what I do, are not nearly as
good for nature recording as the AT3032s -- by a long shot!

 best,
  aaron
