Hi John,
I would recommend you avoid both the mics you list like the plague. I
purchased an AT897 as my first mic and sold it in short order. I
would be very surprised if you were happy with the combination of
relatively high self-noise levels and low output these mics offer. A
far better investment would be the Sennhesier ME66-K6 with good
shockmount and wind protection - you _will_ end up buying twice if
you go for anything less.
