<<Sony also makes the MDR V6, which are virtually the same, but a bit cheaper. Very slightly reduced bass response, nickel plated plugs, and a staight cable.>> The MDR-V6 & The 7506 are the same model, sold through different dealers. The 7506 costs about $20 more & pro audio dealers carry them. The MDR-V6 is sold through consumer outlets. They both have coiled cables. I have about a half dozen of each & I detect no difference in bass response. They are both tipped up a good bit in the low end which is helpful in editing, but may give one a somewhat false sense of rumble problems. This makes them especially good for film location recorders where any hint of LF rumble needs to be addressed. In either model, this is basically a standard in the pro audio world. Scott Fraser |
