Understood. I was being snippy, and have run into ground fog myself
in California's Central Valley.
But if you can't see, stop! but get off the road first...
Really a tragic scene there, I'm still in shock - and only saw the
pictures!

drivers behind had a clue it was there and so it all got worse and
worse. I can tell you from driving in heavy fog, that roads and
turns creep up on you unawares because you really can't see them
coming. One woman stated that one minute it was clear and the next
it was like hitting a wall.
The first 911 call came in between 4-5 AM and was a guy saying they
really ought to close the road. The Florida Highway Patrol (who is
now absolving themselves of any wrongdoing) sent out 2 troopers and
didn't bother. One of them became involved the worst of the wreck.
