Lou,
I don't have the problem you describe with resetting.
If I set the recorder to MP3 it stays at that setting.
Turning the recorder on and off multiple times does not reset to WAV.
It even stays set to MP3 after changing the batteries.
It will reset to 44K 16bit WAV if I switch to or through the 4Ch
surround setting.
