hmmm... the usual story I hear is that condoms were used to
keep the rain out of gun-barrels and rubber was for military
tires... but more recently also for underwater recordings...
this actually seems to work better than manufactured (noisy)
rigs I've tried...

(I'm still looking for a good outdoor weatherproof mic to
record the backyard frogs and crickets should anyone have
suggestions please.)
