I should perhaps put this differently. When I tried using MK41 mics
to record moving water, whether by a stream/brook or an ocean, the
recording seems, at least to my ear, to be biased toward higher
frequencies. There seems to be a lack of balance.

This trip, I want to do near, mid and far field recordings near water
and try mixing them, as Bernie Krause and others suggest.

The question is whether omnidirectional or wide cardiod mics are part
of the solution.

For all I know, the lack of frequency balance that I perceive,
assuming that it isn't just in my head, is something that can be
rectified by the right mix of recording distances combined with the
right mix.

Cheers.
