Thanks Chris,
The meters on both the FR2-LE and Audacity are similar.  Most of the time a=
round -45 to -30db.  I'd like to adjust it at recording time so that the pe=
aks would be around -12db but I'm already setting the volume control near t=
he max.  Surprisingly, when amplified with Audacity by 20 to 24db, the  bac=
kground hiss is barely audible at normal listening volume.
