I agree with Tom that you can probably teach us all a few things. But
to respond to your question, I had the opportunity a month or so ago to
do some side-by-side comparison recordings with a SD722 and a Fostex
FR-2LE. No doubt the 722 wins in almost every category, but the FR-2LE
is amazingly close in sound quality. In fact, I was blown away!
If you can afford to go really high-end, I'd agree with those who
recommend Sound Devices. If cost is a big factor and you don't need all
the extra ruggedness and features, then FR-2LE is a fantastic
alternative.
